Karen Rhodes, 48, of Tate Creek, entered into rest on Thursday, November 27, 2025.

She was born in Charleston, WV on August 26, 1977, to Emma Huddleston Criner of Tate Creek and the late James Criner.

Karen was a 1996 graduate of Braxton County High School, and she also obtained her Professional C.N.A. License from New River Community and Technical School in 2010. She worked as a private caregiver out of the home. Her pride and joy were her grandbabies. Karen enjoyed spending time with friends. She liked to sing, and one could often find her singing Karaoke. She will be missed by many.

In addition to her mother, left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Kari Boggs and husband, Zach, of Tate Creek and Haley Gibson and boyfriend, Eric Schoolcraft, of Tate Creek; nephews who were like sons, Aaron Criner and girlfriend, Kassidy Butcher, of Blacksville, WV and Christopher Criner of Flatwoods; grandchildren, Lavaiah, Beau, Hanna, Maverick and Amelia; brother, Jamie Criner of Tate Creek; and good friend of 35 years, Angie (Jones) Bell.

Karen’s graveside service will be held 1 P.M. Friday, December 5, 2025, at Criner Cemetery, Wilsie.
