It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Richard “Rick” Douglas Hoover, who departed this life peacefully on October 10, 2025, at the age of 68. He was at his home in Golden Valley, Arizona when he passed. Rick loved a simple life and was a kind and gentle soul. He was loved by his family and will be missed by many.

He was born on June 17, 1957, in West Virginia to the late Richard Hoover and Marcelene Cogar.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Kyran Hoover; and his good friend, Danny Cogar.

Rick was an owner and operator, and he retired after 45 years as an over-the-road truck driver. He enjoyed taking care of his three dogs: Athena, Endica, and McKenna. Rick lived in Sutton with his family until he moved to Arizona in 2018.

Left to cherish his memories are his children, Travis Hoover, Brandon Hoover, Joshua Hoover (Amy), and Zach Hoover (Charessa); granddaughter Arianna; grandsons, Connor, Eli, David, and Daniel; sisters, Tammy McKenzie and Garnett Hoover.

In keeping with his wishes, he was cremated in Arizona, and a Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
