Kara Lynne Nichols (Keenan), 81, of Cross Lanes, West Virginia, entered the Kingdom of Heaven on October 8, 2025, after a long illness. She was born on November 22, 1943, and lived a full and loving life dedicated to her family, friends, and faith.

Lynne was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carl E. “Nick” Nichols, with whom she shared many wonderful years; mother, Grace Keenan; father, Russell Laverne Keenan; and siblings, Mary Nichols, Carole Keenan, Paul Keenan, Russell Keenan, Robert Keenan and Gerald Keenan.

She is survived by her children; Sandra (Marty) Ferrell of Cross Lanes, Russell (Pamela) Nichols of Chesnee, South Carolina, and Kathy (Joe) McCormick of Nashville, Tennessee; and her sister Cheryl Kay (Frank) Quifunas of New Castle, Delaware.

She was a proud and loving grandmother to Adam Robinson, Amber (Adam) Cooper, Joshua (Judy) Taylor, Jessika (Matthew) Taylor, Tyler Nichols, Cayla (Nick) Perry, Brittany Ferrell, and Jake Nichols, and a cherished great-grandmother to eleven great-grandchildren. Lynne also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and countless dear friends who were touched by her warmth and kindness.

Lynne attended Nicholas County High School and was a devoted member of Poca Fork Baptist Church in Elkview, WV. She had a heart for people, never met a stranger, and brought light and laughter to everyone she encountered. Above all, she deeply loved her family and her Lord.

Her legacy of love, faith, and kindness will live on in all who knew her.

Her funeral service will be 3 p.m. Sunday October 12, 2025, at Roach Funeral Home, 708 Braxton Street, Gassaway, WV with Pastor Dale Wolfingbarger officiating.

Burial will follow in the Keenan Family Cemetery, Drennen.

Lynne’s visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
