Mary M. Moats, 86, of Birch River entered into her Heavenly Home on Friday, August 8, 2025, at home surrounded by her family.

She was born on July 29, 1939, in Rock Camp in Clay County to the late Abe White and Lena Woods White.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Hardway; grandson, Christopher Graham; and seven siblings.

Mary enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved to fish. Her favorite pastime was traveling on road trips out of state. She owned her own business, M & J Upholstery, and she retired over 20 years ago. She was the last of the 8 siblings in her family.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Jerry Lee Moats; children, Susan Adkins and husband, David, of Birch River, Freddie Hardway and fiancé, Belinda White, of Duck, Kimberly Graham and husband, David, of Duck and Linda Adkins and husband, Dale, of Duck; 10 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

In keeping with her wishes she will be cremated and there will be a service at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Nicholas County Animal Shelter, 158 Stadium Drive, Summersville, WV 26651.
