“God has you in His arms, we have you in our hearts” – author unknown

Gladys Myrtle (Yarbrough) Alvarez, 71, of Gassaway, WV peacefully passed from heart and kidney failure as complications of diabetes at Braxton County Memorial Hospital on July 16, 2018.

She was born in Glen County, California at home to William Swanson Yarbrough and Lillian Norma (Middleton) Yarbrough on September 4, 1946, both parents proceeded her in death.

She leaves behind two sons, Stephen and Robert and several grandchildren, all residing in Oregon. Gladys was the oldest of three daughters, Maryetta Ables and Kate Ciezadlo, both of Sutton, WV. They both will cherish their memories and miss her every day.

Gladys prided herself on her skills to raise orchids and had many in her home. She was a farmer at heart and would have had a full menagerie of critters and a bountiful garden had she been able to take care of them. She was content in her senior years, she had been quite the “wild child” and had found Jesus, then saying she felt blessed and happy. She lived in Gassaway for about 15 years and always kept to herself, socializing only with family.

Her request was to be cremated, with no memorial.

Words of comfort and memories may be extended to the family at www.roachfuneralhome.com.
